State Bond Initiatives


Proposition 39 bond election results, passed on March 5, 2002, authorized the sale of approximately $7bn of bonds by school districts for repair, construction, or replacement of school facilities and classrooms.

Assembly Bill 16 is a $25.3bn statewide bond package for public school construction and modernization.

The California Department of Education (CDE) recently announced a new program for the purpose of reducing the student-to-multimedia computer ratio in the 4th-8th grades. Through a competitive grant process, approximately $33 million will be made available to recently renovated schools in California to reduce the ratio to 10:1 at the funded school.
